Terms of Service

Welcome to GuestLink. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the GuestLink website (guestlink.org), application, and messaging services (together, the “Service”) operated by Oladoyin Adedokun, sole proprietor (“GuestLink”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to use GuestLink. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

2. Event Host Responsibilities

When you use GuestLink to send invitations, reminders, or other messages, you are the event host (“Host”). As the Host, you agree that:

• You have obtained express consent from every guest before adding their phone number or email to GuestLink. This consent includes permission for GuestLink to send event-related SMS and emails on your behalf.
• You will not upload phone numbers or email addresses you purchased, scraped, or otherwise obtained without the individual’s permission.
• You will not use GuestLink to send marketing, promotional, political, or fundraising messages, or any content unrelated to the specific event you are hosting.
• You will promptly honour any guest’s request to stop receiving messages.
• You are solely responsible for the content of any custom messages you author in GuestLink.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or any SHAFT content (Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco) prohibited by carriers.
• Send phishing, fraudulent, or misleading messages.
• Impersonate another person or organization.
• Violate any applicable law, including TCPA, CAN-SPAM, CASL, or 10DLC regulations.
• Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms.

5. Pricing & Payments

GuestLink offers free and paid event packages. Paid packages are processed through Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion (for example, an event is cancelled before any invitations have been sent). All prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout.

6. Intellectual Property

GuestLink and its logos, design, and software are the property of Oladoyin Adedokun and are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain all rights to content you upload (event branding, guest lists, custom messages) and grant us a limited license to use that content solely to deliver the Service to you.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” While we work hard to ensure reliable delivery of email and SMS, we cannot guarantee delivery times or that every message will be received. Carriers may delay, filter, or reject messages for reasons outside our control.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuestLink’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
